As promised, I will run one more hacking session in the end of January. I aim to make this one more practical than some of the past internals geek-dives :-)
The topic:
- Troubleshooting Complex Oracle Performance Problems with Tanel Poder
Date & Time:
- Thursday 30 January 2020 (today!)
- 12pm-1:30pm ET
Registration:
Description:
- In this session I will first present some slides about a complex performance issue where the initial symptoms point somewhere else than the root cause. After the presentation, I will do a live demo to dig deeper. Only when systematically following through the wait chains, we get to the root cause of the problem. This session aims to help you understand (and reason about) the Oracle’s multi-process & multi-layer system behavior, preparing you for independent troubleshooting of such complex performance issues in the future.
- The presentation that I’ll deliver will be roughly this one: Troubleshooting Another Complex Oracle Performance Issue. The live demos will involve some commit and LGWR issues and whatever else comes up! ;-)
As usual, I’ll upload the video recordings to https://youtube.com/TanelPoder. See you soon!
