If you want to end the year by learning something practical and new, this is it!
I am running new special-focus deep dive seminars that address two complex Oracle Query Optimizer (CBO+stats) problem areas that keep popping up, even on modern Oracle 19c+ versions. The third one is about running I/O intensive Oracle databases, avoiding unnecessary bottlenecks and optimizing caching, writes & OS I/O subsystem.
This is heavily practical stuff, derived from real-life customer problems I’ve encountered in the last few years. I’ll show how all the involved components work (or not work) together and how I’ve troubleshooted, reasoned about and fixed the underlying causes. There will be new troubleshooting scripts!
- Handling the Optimizer, Statistics and Workloads on Partitioned Tables in Oracle Databases (5-6 Nov 2025)
- Running I/O-Intensive Oracle Databases On-Premises and in the Cloud (18-19 Nov 2025)
- Navigating Adaptive Behavior in Oracle SQL Optimizer and Plan Execution (9-10 Dec 2025)
Each course is a 1-day deep dive (2 x 0.5 day sessions via Zoom), plus 2 x 2 hour follow-up Zoom meetings about a week and a month after. The first deep dive starts in about 2 weeks (I couldn’t find any other free slot this year), but the Q&A sessions happen later. And between the training sessions and Q&A, I will answer follow-up questions via email. So, each course is total 1.5 days of learning, with plenty of interactive hanging-out time, too!
You can download the table of contents PDF file for my new courses here.
All attendees will get downloadable video recordings, as usual.
Check out the full details at my training page.
See you soon!
